Join an event

To read captions you need only a phone and a browser. No app and no sign-up.

Join with the QR code

1. Scan the QR code at the venue with your phone camera and open the link.
2. You see “Choose your caption language”. Tap the language you want.
3. When the speaker starts talking, captions appear.

Before the speaker starts, the page shows that it is waiting for the speaker.

Join with the event code

Without a QR code, enter the event code from the organizer on the HearGlobe captions home page:

1. Enter the code in “Event code” (lowercase letters, digits or hyphens). You can also paste the caption URL.
2. Tap “Open captions”.
3. Tap the language you want.

If the event needs a password

1. Enter the password from the organizer.
2. Tap your language.

This device remembers it for 7 days. If the organizer changes the password, enter the new one.

While you read captions

• The top shows the event name and the connection status.
• Captions scroll to the latest line automatically. Scroll up to read earlier lines, and tap the button to jump back to the latest.
• To change the text size, display mode or appearance, see Choose a language and listen.

Tips

• Add the page to your home screen for faster access. The screen stays on while captions are showing.
• After the event ends, the page shows that the event has ended, with the last captions.
