Listener FAQ

What to do when there are no captions, the event is full, the password is wrong or the screen turns off.

Do I need an app or an account?

No. Scan the QR code with your phone’s browser. No account is needed. We do not ask listeners for a name or email.

It keeps saying it is waiting for the speaker

The speaker has not started recording yet, or is on a break. When the speaker starts talking, captions appear automatically. You do not need to reload.

It says translation is paused

The organizer has run out of time. Keep the page open. Captions continue after the organizer fixes it.

It says the event is full

The event has reached its listener limit. Try “Join” again in a little while, or tell the organizer.

Wrong password

Check what you typed, then try again. After too many tries, wait a moment before trying again. Ask the organizer for the password.

No event has this code

The code may have changed. Check it and enter it again, or scan the QR code at the venue again.

Cannot reach the caption server

  • The venue Wi-Fi may need you to sign in again.
  • Switch to mobile data, or turn off your VPN.
  • The page continues automatically when the network is back.

If some captions were missed while disconnected, the page tells you and shows the latest.

The screen turns off and captions stop

  • Add the page to your home screen. The screen stays on while captions are showing.
  • Some browsers cannot keep the screen on. You can set a longer auto-lock time in your phone settings.

I cannot hear the speech

  • Check that there is a speaker button on the screen, and tap it. If there is no button, this event does not offer speech.
  • Check that the phone is not muted and the earphones are connected.
  • Some networks block the audio, but captions still work. Try mobile data.

How do I report a caption problem?

  1. Tap “Settings” at the top right → “Report a problem”.
  2. Send the copied text to the organizer.

Is my data stored?

The listener page saves only your language and text size preferences in your browser, plus a random device ID used to count listeners. See the Privacy Policy for details.
